Charges dismissed in Molalla sex abuse case

Charges in sex assault reported at Molalla Safeway have been dismissed

MOLALLA, Ore. (KOIN) — Charges against a 68-year-old woman suspected of sexually assaulting a child in a Molalla Safeway have been dismissed, officials said.

Around 4:20 p.m. June 17, a child was reportedly sexually assaulted at the store at 1525 W Main Street, Molalla Police Dept. said.

Laurie Swanson was arrested soon after at her Molalla residence after someone identified her from a surveillance photo, officials said.

Charges of attempted first-degree sex abuse, public indecency and resisting arrest have since been dismissed.
