PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 56-year-old sex offender who removed his electronic monitoring bracelet and violated his parole surrendered to his parole officer Wednesday morning.

Dennis John Davis was released from prison Friday, Portland Police Bureau said. A parole violation was issued Monday after authorities discovered he had removed his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Davis is currently on parole for multiple convictions of rape, sodomy and kidnapping. He has an extensive criminal record that consists of property crimes, non-sexual violence convictions, stranger rape convictions and prior sex offenses.

Multnomah County officials told KOIN 6 News Davis turned himself in to his parole officer shortly before noon.
