PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An early morning robber was caught by police Sunday after he rode off on a bicycle stolen from a local Target store, officials said.

Shortly before 3:15 a.m., officers were called to Target at Mall 205 on reports of a burglary in progress at the store, Portland Police Bureau said.

While officers set up a perimeter, 26-year-old Lance Brady Gonzalez fled from the back of the store on a bike he stole inside, officials said. Officers chased the suspect until he jumped off the bicycle at SE 92nd Avenue and Mill Street and started to run.

A K-9 unit caught up to Gonzalez and he was taken into custody with the help of other officers.

He was booked in Multnomah County Jail on 3 charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and interfering with a peace officer.
