PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — METRO is no longer considering transit tunnels beneath Marquam Hill and Hillsdale as part of its Southwest Corridor Plan.

Planners are also delaying a decision on whether to continue studying a MAX tunnel that would provide service to the Sylvania campus of Portland Community College.

The focus of the Southwest Corridor Plan is to get 40,000 west side commuters in and out of downtown Portland quicker.

There will be a steering committee meeting in July. METRO is asking for public input. You can fill out the survey here.
