Teen, dad wounded in Salem drive-by shooting

Both father and son expected to make full recovery

SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — A teenager and his father were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Salem just after midnight Sunday morning.

A teen suffered a chest wound in the shooting that took place in the 4300 block of Kale Street NE, Salem police said. The 14-year-old was transferred to a Portland trauma center but is expected to recover.

His 34-year-old father, Arturo Chacon Sr., was shot in the leg and is also expected to recover.

The investigation into the case continues.
