GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) — A Gresham family has been reunited with their dog after he went missing Friday night.

Diggy, a 5-year-old Whippet who suffers from epilepsy, went missing from his home on Regner Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday, his owner Ashtyn Butuso told KOIN 6 News.

Butuso said Diggy ran off after he was let outside by a family friend. She believed he was disoriented from seizures he had earlier in the day.

Diggy was later spotted inside Persimmon Golf Course, but was not picked up, Butuso said.

The 5-year-old dog requires special attention due to his condition and desperately needed his medication.

Due to his condition, Butuso said she believed Diggy may have been hiding. Neighbors were asked to please check under their porches or in other areas the dog could have crawled into.
