PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Two juveniles and an adult have been taken into custody after they reportedly stole an iPad and other items from inside Roosevelt High School early Tuesday morning, police confirmed.
North Precinct officers responded to the school at 4:40 a.m. in the 6900 block of North Central the request of a private security firm. School security on scene received several alarm trips and could hear people inside the building, police said.
When officers responded, they located the three people walking away from the school. The suspects had a Portland Public Schools iPad, classroom supplies and snacks, police said.
A K9 Unit responded and helped officers search the building. No other people were found. Police said the suspects made entry from an unsecured door. There were no signs of forced entry.
Police arrested 19-year-old Dalton Parnell for Burglary and Aggravated Theft. A 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were also arrested. They were taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home. Detectives assigned to the Burglary Unit will follow up.
