2 arrested for burglarizing 4 churches

Two men in have been arrested for stealing from churches in Washougal and Camas

EAST CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KOIN) — Two men were arrested earlier this month for burglarizing four churches — The Church of the Nazarene in Camas, Gateway Community Church in Washougal, Christian Life Church in Camas and St John’s Presbyterian in Camas.

Stolen items included electronics, music equipment and cash.

Alexander Warner Sampson, 27, confessed to the burglaries of the churches during an arrest for the theft of a motorcycle. He is charged with four counts of burglary in the 2nd degree and three counts of theft in the 2nd degree.

Police also arrested a 51-year-old man, Daniel Arthur Schrader, in connection with the burglaries. He is accused of trading illegal drugs for stolen property. He is charged with trafficking stolen property in the 1st degree, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen property in the 2nd degree.

Police expect to make additional arrests related to these burglaries and are still making efforts to recover more of the church’s stolen property.
