PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – An iconic Portland food truck is closing, but it’s not because the property landlord wants to do something different.

Lisa and Brian Wood, the owners of Big Ass Sandwiches in Southeast Portland, said it’s time to expand and open a traditional restaurant.

Their application for a liquor license indicates they will take over a spot at 56th and Glisan currently occupied by Tarboosh. Their plans show a restaurant that will seat 49, including 37 indoors.

Their cart has been featured in several national TV shows and voted several times as the best food cart in town.
