SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State Police are investigating a deadly hit and run that happened in Salem early Saturday morning.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Mike Iwai says witnesses called 911 after seeing a man hit by a vehicle on Salem Parkway at Cherry Ave.  The vehicle left the scene and 36-year-old Travis Lane was found dead.  Iwai says initially, investigators were unable to determine Lane’s exact position on the street.

Several hours later, a woman called police dispatch and said she might have hit something.  36-year-old Kimberly Malm was eventually arrested for Manslaughter II, DUII and several other charges.

Salem Parkway was closed for several hours for the investigation.  Iwai says the investigation is continuing at a home in Marion County.
