Oregon adds 7,600 jobs in April

Oregon's unemployment rate is back to where it was pre-recession

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon’s unemployment rate dropped to its lowest rate since July 2007 in the month of April, Oregon’s Employment Department announced on Tuesday.

The state added 7,600 jobs in the month of April and the unemployment rate dropped to 5.2 percent in April from 5.4 percent in March.

The rate was at pre-recession levels.

According to the employment department, four industries contributed to the growth:

* Health care and social assistance 
* Manufacturing 
* Professional and business services 
* Leisure and hospitality
