OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon City babysitter has now been charged with murder in last month’s death of a 7-month-old boy.

Oregon City police say a Clackamas County grand jury indicted 37-year-old Sarah Martin on Tuesday. She had initially been charged with first-degree manslaughter.

Martin was babysitting Izaak Gillen on April 6 when paramedics responded to a call that the boy stopped breathing. The baby died at a hospital the following day, and police say he suffered a fractured skull while in Martin’s care.

Martin is being held without bail. Her arraignment has been set for Thursday.

The child’s parents released a statement Wednesday, saying they trust the legal system to determine the facts of the case and bring justice.

Martin met the Gillen family through church and was Izaak’s sitter for about four months.
