PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 57-year-old man accused of murdering his wife was indicted Monday.

John Coffey is accused of killing his wife, Samantha, April 25 in their home in North Portland. He was arraigned on the charge of murder with a firearm – constituting domestic violence.

According to the indictment Coffey placed his wife “in fear of imminent serious physical injury.”

Samantha Coffey was a long-time food worker at Woodlawn School in Portland.

He was arraigned by video at 9:30 a.m. at the Multnomah County Justice Center and remains in custody on a no bail hold at the Multnomah County Inveness Jail.
