BANDON, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A Portland woman died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle collision on Highway 42 South near Bandon, Oregon State Police said.

William Love, 46, from Coquille and Carrie Murray, 34, from Portland were riding a 2006 Honda CBR around 3:30 p.m. when a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup turned into their path, officials said.

The motorcycle swerved, but was unable to avoid the pickup and crashed into it from behind, OSP said. Love, who was driving the motorcycle, was taken to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. He is expected to survive.

Murray was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead, officials said.

The driver of the Ford pickup, 47-year-old Shelly Corbit from Cottage Grove, was not injured in the crash. She was not issued a citation for driving with a suspended license, officials said Monday morning, but additional charges may be pending.

OSP is continuing its investigation into the crash.
