Missing 85-year-old found riding TriMet in PDX

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — An 85-year-old man reported missing from his Washington County care facility was found Sunday evening, officials confirmed to KOIN 6 News.

Richard Gehr was found by Portland police officers while riding TriMet, Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

He reportedly walked away from a facility at SW Vista Place and SW 97th Avenue at 9:30 a.m., officials said.

Gehr has known memory issues and gets confused easily, officials said. He is known to walk around the area and answers when called by his name.

The 85-year-old is also known to use public transportation, and was seen in the area of SW Columbia and 5th Avenue in downtown Portland around 11:30 a.m.

Deputies said Gehr was wearing glasses. He is described as a white man, 6-feet-tall, 175 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a long brown shirt and blue jeans.
