WOODBURN, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Woodburn police said the woman who claimed to be sexually assaulted by four men early on March 23 made up the story.
Bridgette Gage was arrested for filing a false report and for misusing 911 to make the claim, Woodburn police officials said.
“After a thorough investigation of this incident, the Woodburn Police Department has determined, without a doubt, that the report of the random sexual assault by four subjects that was made was fabricated,” the department said in a statement.
Gage, 37, not only confessed to lying about this incident but said she made similar false reports in the past to other agencies in Marion County, Crook County and in Missoula, Montana.
She was cited by the Woodburn police and released.
