LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A Vancouver woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon near Lincoln City, officials said.

Monica Calzadillas, 31, was driving east when her Nissan Altima crossed the center line and hit a Toyota Tundra pulling an RV trailer that was traveling west, Oregon State Police said.

Calzadillas’ car made at least two complete rotations before coming to rest at the center of Highway 18 near milepost 6. The Toyota was hit and came to a stop on the north side shoulder.

Both lanes were blocked for about an hour and a half due to the crash.

Carlos Calzadillas, 26, was a passenger in the Nissan, as well as a juvenile girl. All three passengers were taken to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. Monica had a serious injury and was transported by ground to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland with her uninjured daughter. Carlos was released from the hospital, however, he was taken into custody on a warrant from the Oregon Parole Board.

Colin Hales, 35, from Sherwood was the driver of the Toyota involved in the crash. Hanna Hales, 34, and three juveniles were also in the car. One of the girls was released with minor injuries, and Hanna was admitted for observation.

All people involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.
