HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 51-year-old man was struck and killed by a driver on SW Tualatin Valley Highway in the early hours of Saturday.

The man was hit near the intersection with SW Cornelius Pass Road around 1:30 a.m., Hillsboro police said in a release. He was found laying in the center turn lane and died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

He was hit by a black Chevy Impala driven by Beatriz Rivera. The 29-year-old Issaquah, Washington resident was arrested on an unrelated probation violation.

The crash remains under investigation, and police said witnesses told them a dark-colored vehicle swerved to avoid the man just before the Impala hit him.
