PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 7-year veteran of the Portland Police Bureau suffered serious injuries when her patrol car was hit as she was on her way to a call about domestic violence.

Around 11:45 p.m.., Officer Allison Renander was headed east on SE Stark Street near 155th Avenue when a Dodge pickup hit her from behind. The crash sent the patrol car over a sidewalk and into a yard.

The pickup’s driver, Gary Clark, was not hurt. However, the 57-year-old was arrested for DUII and reckless driving and is expected to be arraigned Monday.

Renander was taken to the hospital for treatment. She is expected to be released later this weekend.
