CLACKAMAS, Ore. (KOIN) — A total of 11 firefighter units rescued dozens of pigs from a barn fire in Clackamas County Saturday morning.

The barn was enveloped in fire when firefighters arrived around 11:25 a.m. at 25675 S. Beavercreek Road, Mark Kester with the Clackamas Fire District said.

Winds also affected the blaze, forcing firefighters to use a defensive posture to tackle the fire. Some portions of the building collapsed, officials said.

A total of 20 adult pigs and an unknown number of piglets were rescued. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
