PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A woman killed while learning to ride a motorcycle in Portland was identified Monday morning as 60-year-old Tigard resident Tara Freemole.

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner confirmed Freemole’s name just before 7 a.m.

Freemole was riding a 2011 Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster in the parking lot of the Multnomah Arts Center in Southwest Portland when she struck a curb, causing her to crash into a parked car, investigators with the Portland Police Bureau said Monday.

Freemole was wearing a helmet, PPB said, though early indicators suggest she died instantly due to head trauma.
