No known gunshot victims, parked car hit

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – The city’s gang unit is responding to the Piedmont neighborhood to investigate a shooting that happened early Thursday.

Officers said multiple 911 callers reported hearing shots near the intersection of NE Cleveland and NE Dekum. The shooting was reported around 5:15 a.m., officers said. A patrol officer was in the area when the shots rang out and was able to immediately respond.

There are no known gunshot victims, police said, but a parked vehicle was struck by gunfire. Broken glass could be seen on the street near the car.

Neighbors tell KOIN 6 News they heard a vehicle speeding away from the scene moments after the shooting. Police have not released any information about a suspect.
