MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A mechanical failure sparked a blaze that engulfed two large trucks outside a local business Wednesday morning, causing about $500,000 damage.

The fires were reported around 2:45 a.m. at Alpine Food District Transportation in the 2400-block of Southeast Mailwell Drive.

When crews arrived on scene they found both semis fully involved. A spokesperson said firefighters were quickly able to get everything under control within a matter of minutes. Because the trucks were close to a structure, Clackamas County Fire District 1 called for additional resources from the Portland Fire Bureau, emergency dispatchers said.

There were no reported injuries. A spokesperson with CCFD 1 said crews are in the process of working to clean up a diesel leak.

Firefighters have not said what, if anything, was inside the trailers, but authorities said the fire is not suspicious.
