PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A woman who wore a blond wig and faked a British accent as part of an elaborate con that duped an Oregon man of millions of dollars has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Porsha Lee will be sentenced April 15.
The 25-year-old Lee got involved in the scheme through her mother, a psychic who met the victim in 2004.
The younger Lee used the disguise to fool the man into believing she was a British immigrant who needed a green card.
The victim – the heir to a timber fortune – was later duped into thinking he married the woman and fathered her child.
Acting as the wife, Porsha Lee negotiated the sale of multiple properties, with the money going into bank accounts controlled by her mother.
