YAMHILL, Ore. (KOIN 6) — After a tip from a neighbor, a search warrant at a Yamhill farm ended with 122 animals seized and a 43-year-old man facing first-degree animal neglect charges.
Steven Michael Shore was cited by sheriff’s deputies after the animals were found on his property at 13921 NW Oakridge Road, authorities said in a release.
The animals were “living in feces and did not have access to clean water and food,” officials said.
The animals seized included 55 chickens, 25 ducks, 17 sheep, 12 goats, 6 rabbits, 4 turkeys and 3 dogs. Authorities also said they located 25 dead animals on the property.
The animals will eventually be up for adoption, but will remain as evidence for now, officials said.
KOIN 6 News will have more information later.
