SEATTLE, Wash. (KOIN 6) — A Seattle ice cream company is recalling all of its dairy-based flavors after harmful bacteria was found in some of its products.

Full Tilt Ice Cream issued the voluntary recall Friday, citing the discovery of Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious infections in young children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. In some cases, the bacteria can cause death.

Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The company is recalling three products sold in Washington and Oregon from Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 19.

  • Full Tilt Ice Cream 16 oz containers 01/01/2014-12/19/2014 paper
  • Full Tilt Ice Cream 1.5 gallon containers 01/01/2014-12/19/2014 plastic gallon
  • Full Tilt Ice Cream 3 gallon containers 01/01/2014-12/19/2014 plastic gallon

No illnesses have been reported, though customers with questions may contact the company at 206.963.5038.
