PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Neal Allen Panschow, wanted in connection with multiple crimes in multiple counties in Oregon, was arrested Sunday afternoon in Northeast Portland.
Panschow, 43, was taken into custody shortly before 5 p.m. at the Multnomah County Library at Gregory Heights, 7921 NE Sandy, officials said.
Two people who were inside the library were told to move by police.
“(The police) said, ‘Move to the back, move to the back. All we saw was just the cops,” one woman told KOIN 6 News.
This past Tuesday, Panschow allegedly threw “active pipe bombs” out the window of his car as he fled from police around SE 45th and Flavel. Panschow got away as police stopped to deal with the devices, which did not detonate.
Four pipe bombs were recovered at that time.
After his arrest Sunday, the Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit — bomb squad — arrived in the Northeast Portland neighborhood to check for explosives. No explosives were found, officials said.
Panschow also has a warrant for his arrest from Tillamook County.
