PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — No one was injured when a brush fire 20 feet by 40 feet burned in a homeless camp near I-5 Tuesday afternoon.

Portland Fire & Rescue firefighters searched the area near the fire, near I-5 and N Whitaker Rd. next to the Columbia Slough, but did not find anyone near by.

Lt. Damon Simmons said in a statement the fire was difficult to access, and required crews to stretch hoses over rough terrain.

A stretch of I-5 North was temporarily closed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
