PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 23-year-old Salem man already in court on drug charges accidentally brought hypodermic needles and possibly heroin with him to the courthouse.
Michael Durban was set to be arraigned for heroin possession at the Circuit Court Annex in Salem Tuesday morning, but was arrested after deputies found the needles and a cotton ball they believe contained heroin.
“I got mixed up, I thought I left it in my car,” Durban reportedly told deputies.
Durban was charged with an additional count of unlawful possession of heroin and booked into Marion County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court again at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
