PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — An Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday for the Upper Hood River Valley.

The freezing rain should taper by Thursday evening, the National Weather Service said, but ice may accumulate as much as a half-inch between elevations of 750 and 2000 feet.

Authorities said Highway 35 and Dee Highway will “likely remain treacherous for much of the day.” Ice could cause trees and tree branches to snap, which could cause power outages.
