Tigard and Central Catholic to play in final

Final takes place Saturday at 1 pm in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN 6) — The Tigard Tigers finished a perfect season and will face off against Portland powerhouse and 2013 state champions Central Catholic in the 6A finals next Saturday.

Tigard came from behind to beat a determined West Salem team, 17-14, and advance to the finals on December 6. The undefeated Tigers team scored the go-ahead TD with 1:34 left to play.

Brady McGerick made the game-winning catch with just minutes left in the game, as the Tigers were trailing the Titans 14-10.

Later in Hillsboro, the Rams rolled through Eugene’s Sheldon High School Fighting Irish 65-21.

Tigard vs. West Salem

Tigard needed triple-overtime one week ago to defeat the Jesuit Crusaders.

Tigard is now 13-0 on the season and will face the winner of the game between Number 4 Sheldon and top-ranked Central Catholic at Hillsboro Field.

Central Catholic vs. Sheldon

Late in the second quarter, Central Catholic led Sheldon 28-14. But fter trailing 14-7 in the first half, the Rams put up 51 unanswered points to lead the Fighting Irish 58-14 after 3.
