Witnesses told KOIN 6 News the pickup went up on a sidewalk, scraped two trees and a power pole before sideswiping the boat-and-trailer parked near SE 21st and Tolman.

Neighbors said the pickup driver got out and began running. He was found in a nearby home.

Van Wart, 43, was arrested and now faces charges of attempting to elude by vehicle, attempt to elude on foot, second-degree theft and violating a restraining order.

No one was hurt.
