PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Nearly a dozen officers responded to Benson Polytechnic High School early Tuesday morning after getting reports that an unauthorized person may have been inside the building.

Police were dispatched to the building at 12:53 a.m. after emergency dispatchers received several burglary alarm activations.

A security on guard told officers that a boy was observed running in the school wearing a backpack near the library.

Officers used a K-9 Unit to check the building. No one was located, police said.

No forced entry was discovered and nothing appeared to be stolen, police said.

Officers learned from the district that a teacher’s set of building keys disappeared within the last month. They don’t know if it is related.
