MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Police said a man killed at the Bluebird apartments Monday knew his attacker, and was staying with friends who lived at the complex.

A Milwaukie Police Department spokesperson said the victim, 43-year-old Kenneth Scham, died at the scene from what police call “homicidal violence.”

Officers were called to the area of SE 22nd Avenue and Bluebird to help paramedics at Monday at 10:44 p.m. The individual was later pronounced dead.

Milwaukie police officer Greg Elkins said Tuesday there is no apparent danger to the public.

Police said a suspect has been identified, but are not releasing any information beyond that.
