PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A local dentist’s office is giving back next week.

Gillespie Dentistry in Vancouver will offer free dental services, next Saturday as part of a movement called “Dentistry from the Heart.”

“We help those in the community who might not have the means to help themselves in dental care,” said dentist Dr. Brad Gillespie, who owns the practice with his brother.

A regular filling can cost anywhere from $150 to $400, which many people can’t afford.

“It’s great to rally around a good cause,” said Gillespie. “Rallying for a good cause, helping people, it’s just what we should do,” he said.

One tip Gillespie offers for you at home?

If consuming sugar (it’s bad but we all do it), consume it all at one time, rather than sipping or snacking on it all day.

So if you need to have that Diet Coke, drink it in one go, don’t sip on it for too long. The same goes for acidic foods and drinks.
