PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A pickup truck stolen from a woman at gunpoint in a Fred Meyer parking lot in Happy Valley on Monday has been found.
According to the truck’s owner, Karen Mangione, her sister found the truck in a “deeply wooded area” just north of the Fred Meyer, where to truck was taken, Wednesday afternoon.
Mangione said she and her sister, Connie Almond, called police who came to tow the truck away in order to look for prints and DNA.
Three men approached Mangione in the Fred Meyer parking lot on Monday. One of the three men produced a gun when he confronted her.
After a second vehicle pulled up next to Mangione’s truck, the three men got spooked and took off in her truck.
Police said Mangione’s groceries were still in the back of the truck when it was found with the keys in the ignition. Authorities said they didn’t know yet whether the suspects left anything else inside the truck.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the suspects are all believed to be white men who were wearing dark clothing with hoodies.
The man who produced a gun was described as a clean-shaven, white man who is 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. No detailed descriptions were given for the other two suspects.
