PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6)– It appears a popular food cart in Southeast Portland will remain open after all.

Reports of the potential closure of Cartopia came about in May when a developer announced plans to put a four-story apartment building in place of the food carts at Southeast 12th and Hawthorne.

However, the owner of the Potato Champion food cart announced on Facebook that all the Cartopia food carts had received an email from their landlords on Wednesday, stating they’re able to remain at the location for at least two more years.

The post went on to say that there was no information as to what happened with the sale of the property or the developer’s plans.
