LA PINE, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 26-year-old La Pine woman is in custody, facing charges of attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon after allegedly attacking a 52-year-old man with a knife Saturday, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office said.

Heather Chapman allegedly cut 52-year-old Victor Evangelista, inflicting life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the reason she attacked him is unknown.

Evangelista was taken by Air Ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, where he was treated.

Chapman is being held on $360,000 bail.

Anyone with information regarding the incident, which happened Saturday just before 6:00 p.m. in the 51000 block of Riverland Avenue in La Pine, is asked to contact the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
