PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A man on a two-month kayaking trip along the Pacific Coast is making a stop in Portland Monday evening.

Daniel Fox’s goal for his 1,000 mile expedition from Vancouver, B.C., to San Francisco, California, is to raise the necessary funds to send a group of underprivileged teens to a 30-day sea kayaking camp in Alaska next summer.

“As a child, it is the most important time to be exposed to wilderness that will change how you look at the world for the rest of your life,” said Fox.

Fox is also behind the Wild Image Project, which aims to give adolescents the opportunity to experience the wilderness firsthand.

He will give a presentation at Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center on Southeast 7th Avenue Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
