HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Detectives are searching for a 13-year-old girl in Hillsboro who may be endangered.

Authorities said they received a report that Ivette Gutierrez left her residence in Southeast Hillsboro in the early morning hours on Monday with her uncle, 44-year-old Jose Roberto Gomez.

Police said Gomez didn’t have permission to leave with Gutierrez. However, while it is believed that she went willingly, based on her age and lack of consent from the parents, she could be endangered, authorities said.

The pair is traveling without a vehicle and may be using public transportation.

If they are seen, the public is encouraged to call 911.

Any other information should be directed to Hillsboro Police Department detectives at 503.681.6175.
