Small earthquake shakes Mt. Hood

USGS: M 2.6 was felt by very few, if any, people

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A small magnitude 2.6 earthquake was reported early Thursday morning.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) says the quake was first detected at 1:52 a.m.

There have been no reports of any damage.

The small quake was centered about 35 miles east southeast from Troutdale.

The USGS reports the quake occurred about 2.3 miles below ground.

Based on initial reports, very few, if any, people were able to feel the quake.
