70-year-old driver cited for making unsafe left turn

ESTACADA, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Two people were taken to a hospital after a two vehicle accident outside the city of Estacada on Thursday.

Deputies said the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on South Springwater Road near South Ester Court.

Police said 70-year-old Robert Cramer of Estacada was attempting to pull into a driveway from South Spingwater Road when he turned in front of an oncoming Ford pickup driven by 23-year-old Aaron Schoknecht of Estacada.

The Ford pickup crashed into the passenger side of Cramer’s vehicle.

Two people inside Cramer’s vehicle were injured in the impact and had to be extracted.

Authorities said one was transported via LifeFlight and the other was taken by an AMR ambulance. Their conditions and names were not released.

The drivers of each vehicle only received minor injuries.

Deputy’s issued Cramer a citation for an unsafe left turn.
