PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Gunshots were fired at what Portland police describe as a pair of loud house parties Friday night.
Reports of shots fired were received at 11:34 p.m. and 11:41 p.m. No evidence of a shooting was found at the first location, in the 9800 block of Northwest Engelman Street until a victim showed up at a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound about an hour later. Officers returned to the home and found previously undiscovered evidence of a shooting.
The second shooting left two businesses with damage in the 5600 block of NE MLK Blvd. Multiple gunshots were reported in the area of NE Jessup Street and NE Garfield Avenue but police did not find any victims at the scene.
Officers did determine that several people at a nearby house party had gang-ties, so the Gang Enforcement Team was called in to investigate.
Detectives don’t yet know whether the two shootings are related. Anyone with information is asked to call Portland Police.
