Fire at SW Portland apartment complex displaces some

Fire occurred at Rosenbaum Plaza Apartments on SW Washington Street

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A fire at a downtown apartment complex in Portland Friday left several residents displaced due to water damage.

Firefighters responded to the Rosenbaum Plaza Apartments in the 1200 block of Southwest Washington Street around 8 p.m.

Crews said the fire originated on the fifth floor and was contained to the unit by an activated sprinkler system.

Residents were evacuated, while fire crews made sure that the fire did not spread. Portland Fire & Rescue said a couple of the units suffered water damage. Those residents will be assisted by the American Red Cross.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
