Columbia County Courthouse cleared after bomb threat

Threat called in around 11:30 a.m., officials said

ST. HELENS, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A bomb threat evacuated the Columbia County Courthouse for a brief time late Wednesday morning, but no threat was found.

A team of St. Helens police officers and county deputies began searching the building and looking for suspicious packages after the threat came in around 11:30 a.m. The all-clear was given around 12:30 p.m.

Previous threats have been called in to the Columbia County Courthouse earlier this year.

Authorities encouraged anyone with information about this incident to call the St. Helens Police Department at 503.397.1521.
