Gang associates arrested with loaded handguns

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Following a weekend of gang violence throughout the city of Portland, two known gang associates were arrested Tuesday night with firearms.

Driver 22-year-old Manuelito Fernando Gonzales Jr., and passenger, 18-year-old Brandon Marquise Duckworth were stopped at 3rd Avenue and NE Weidler St.

In the vehicle, officers found two loaded handguns, both of which were seized and taken for evidence.

Duckworth had an outstanding parole violation and warrant, and was taken into custody.

Gonzales is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Duckworth is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm (two counts), Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The Portland Police Bureau’s street crimes unit is assisting the force’s gang enforcement team following recent gang-related shootings.
