PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Law enforcement officers are still searching for any sign of a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a woman outside a Northwest Portland apartment complex Tuesday evening.
The body of Nicole Laube, a 29-year-old woman from Forest Grove, was found lying on the ground outside Timber Creek Apartments around 5 p.m.
Laube, an employee at the complex, had only worked there for a short time and was not showing an apartment when she was killed, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Bob Ray.
Investigators are still trying to determine if Laube, an active person with an interest in bodybuilding, knew her attacker.
Emergency crews responded to the 12000 block of Northwest Barnes Road after dispatchers received a stabbing call around 5 p.m.
Authorities continue to search the area for a suspect with K-9 units. Police are asking residents at the apartment complex to remain in their units until they complete their search of the area.
