PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — An 85-year-old woman was not hurt after her car went down an 80-foot embankment into a creek bed.

She called 911 from her cell phone and rescuers used her phone’s GPS to find her. When they arrived, they heard her car’s horn and pinpointed her exact location.

Rescuers were able to get her out of the car and returned her safely to a family member. Officials said she was disoriented and unsure of where she was but otherwise unhurt.

Roads in that area were wet from the rain earlier in the day.
