VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN 6) — A total burn ban, effective immediately, has been issued for Vancouver, Wash.

The order came down August 12 due to extremely high temperatures and windy conditions and will remain in effect until further notice.

The ban includes all outdoor burning, recreational fires and fires in outdoor fireplaces within Vancouver’s city limits. Fires that involve outdoor chimneys are also banned.

However, cooking outdoors in approved propane or charcoal barbecues is permitted.
