Boy, 2, drowns in Yale Lake in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KOIN 6) — A 2-year-old, initially said to have drowned despite the efforts of a nurse who happened to be in the area in Northern Clark County Monday afternoon, was on life support Tuesday.

But the boy has died, authorities confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

The young boy was reported missing shortly before 3 p.m. on Yale Lake, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said. That area is only accessible by boat, authorities said.

The child was found after about 15 minutes and wasn’t breathing. A pediatric nurse at the scene performed CPR that was not succesful, authorities said in a release Monday.

He was taken to Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland.

The investigation into this drowning continues.
